| Pennsylvania’s largest taxidermy competition is coming to Somerset County for the first time.
The state’s 31st annual Taxidermy & Wildlife Art Championships Convention and Trade Show will kick off Thursday at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Frank Kotula, president of the Pennsylvania Taxidermist Association, said this location was chosen for its rustic beauty. “You really feel like you’re at home here in a log cabin,” said Kotula, a Wilkes-Barre resident. At least 300 individual taxidermists are expected to attend the event, which features a combination of informational seminars and cash prize competitions. “It draws sometimes between 10 to 15 other states’ (taxidermists) who travel to compete at our show,” Kotula said. “We are one of the few states that are considered prestigious as far as taxidermy goes.” Read The Rest Of Seven Springs to host taxidermists - Daily American Online |
