Taxidermists from 14 states have converged on Blair County for the Pennsylvania Taxidermist Association's 30th annual convention.

The event, which includes 273 taxidermists and 45 vendors/suppliers, ends today at the Blair County Convention Center.

''It is a gathering of old friends and new. There are not too many opportunities for taxidermists to get together and chew the fat - that is one of the perks of the show,'' said association president Raymond Kowalski, owner of Kowalski Taxidermy in New Kensington.

Ann Farkas, owner and president of Sivko Fur Inc. of Canisteo, N.Y., whose company does tanning for the taxidermy industry, has attended the show for years.
