Milford State Forest NY
Milford State Forest shares the same zip code with Cliffords Taxidermy, Milford State Forest offers 512 acres of land for deer, turkey and small game hunting and is located in the towns of Laurens and Milford, New York. Most of the land was devastated and wiped out in 1998 to a tornado, (one of six that touched down) which now holds a lot of young forest habitat. However hardwoods and pine plantations once again thrive.
Milford State Forest offers some of the best deer and turkey hunting within Otsego County New York. Beaver ponds and other water sources can be located within the state forest. The ruffed grouse population within the Milford Forest is abundant due to the regrowth of thick and heavy underbrush.
If your day of hunting slows down within the forest and or need to find other close by state public hunting land, the Hartwick State Forest is only 15 minutes north.
Provided below is a detailed map of the 512 acres of the forest.
